My dermatologist keeps telling me i have hives?

For about a year now ive always been very itchy and one day i developed a rash/hives and ive been having pain in most spots i get the hives. Especially on my hands and feet recently ive been swelling alot more then usual like on my lips. Ive had some joint pain. But ever since i started having "hives" ive been very tired all the time. What im asking is does anyone think this is something else besides hives. Also my hives are alot more spotty and i developed little scabs not like rough patches. But most plces are very painful and itchy. Sore. Sometimes its unbarable to even walk or using my hands.
