Acne Scars and deep discoloration of skin on my back

Hello. I'm writing again to tell you about my current skin condition. I have light brown skin and I am currently 17 years old.

I have a lot of acne scars on my back, not ance anymore. Just scars. They appear in little dark brown spots all over my back and shoulders. I'm wondering if it is an internal problem or an external one. I believe to have candida, yeast infection in my body and I'm wondering if it contributes to the small brown spots left behind from acne. I've been using scrubbers when showering but it appears to make more acne come out. So I stopped using the back scrubber. I believe abrasion on my skin causes acne breakouts. Ever since using back scrubbers, acne appeared and left acne scars after disappearing.

I totally lost my confidence in dressing up for summer and I cant go shirtless, I'm forced to wear a shirt when I go swimming and its bothersome. My self-esteem has hit rock bottom ever since these deep scars appeared. I never knew skin could do that.

I'm begging you for a diagnosis and solutions to clearing up these ugly spots and making them disappear completely.

Hello,
The treatment for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment but these should be used only under prescription.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hello,
It can be due to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is a condition where there is an excess amount of pigment following a disease process that affects the skin.  Without treatment, this usually takes about 6 months to resolve and for the skin color to go back to its normal color.  Topical treatments with acids and chemical peels can be effective but can take a while for the skin to totally revert to its normal color.  Microdermabrasion can also be done, but this might require several sessions.  Skin resurfacing using lasers is also an option.
