New Freckles

I'm a 21 year old female. Over the past few weeks I've noticed new freckles popping up every so often. Some of them are really dark and one of them is more red. I read somewhere that it happened to someone when they started taking multivitamins, which I have been taking.  I'm also concerned about it being something more serious.

Hi,

Are you fair skinned and do other family members also present wih freckles?

Freckles are skin hyperpigmentation almost like a mole. They are concentrated in sun exposed areas of the body. They are usually flat, brownish,  not raised and they should not appear irregular , or painful or with a variety of colors (bluish with reddish margins etc). Have a consult with your prmary physician just for an initial assessment.

Do you take your vitamins for any underlying nutritional deficiency? Was this prescribed by  a physician? If not, you may stop taking it and observe if the pigmentations cease to occur. Eat a well balanced meal and take in  lots of fluids. A sunblock cream that is hypoallergenic may be used for prolonged sun exposures.

Do keep us posted for anything.

Freckles usually appear in areas exposed to the sun. Is it summer where you live?
I got more freckles and pigmented skin when i started using the oral contraceptive pill. The majority of pigmented lesions are harmless, but if you notice change in their size, shape or color go to your doctor for further evaluation and advice. Loiloi x
