Night Rash

Every night (only at night) for the past few nights I get an itchy rash on my wrists, behind my ears, and on the upper part of my stomach.  The rash consists of tiny red bumps and a couple of the tiny bumps have a white "halo" around them.  I am 39 weeks pregnant, and I thought that it was just a part of pregnancy, but my husband also has gotten these tiny red bumps but they are on his cheek and thigh. He took benedryl last night (I am staying away from medicines right now) and the bumps have not returned on him yet. What could it be?

Hello,
What you seem to be having is called pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy. It shows up as red, irregularly shaped, itchy, flat or slightly raised patches with a light halo around them. Typically, the rash appears during the last 2 to 3 weeks of pregnancy and occasionally during the last few days. Usually, the rash clears up promptly after delivery and does not recur during subsequent pregnancies.

I hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.

There is a skin rash that is caused by pregnancy. You need to tell your OB about it because it only gets worse.
