I have been told of the severe side-effects of using Sodium Bicarbonate (~pH 8) directly on the scalp in a mix of just plan water (H2O) in place of using commercially available shampoo to include: eczema, skin disease and yeasts.
I make mix of which I wash my hair with once per week:
• Water: 100ml
• Sodium Bicarbonate (Na2CO3): 2 tablespoons
..and a conditioner rinse to re-balance the pH level of my hair consisting of:
• Apple Cider Vinegar: 150ml
• Water: 150ml
I would like to know what the effects are on the skin on my scalp as I only apply the conditioner to the tips of my hair. Apparently the Sodium Bicarbonate will keep the pores open and strip away all the oils, but I only use this once a week.
What data is there on this effects of this "diet" please. I have been using this for around the past year now and feel fine, but would like to know if I should change the quantities, or use a different method?
Many thanks.
