I was recommended to use Obaji. I have adult acne and a brown spot on my cheek. The cost is $140.00. For me it is expensive and I don't know if this is a good product or  possible sales tactic. What do you know about it?

I have found that Obaji does help with acne. You can also use a topical antibiotic and/or Accutane, with the Obaji products for better results. An Obaji (blue peel) will help get rid of any scars you may have. If you do decide to use Obaji, I would recomend useing cleanser, toner, clear.exfoderm, blender and Retin-A.This would probably cost about $220.,if you add in the cost of Retin-A ( $30- $80) and a topical antibiotic ($30) you are looking at about $280. Your insurance may cover the cost of Retin-A ,topical antiotics and Accutane. The cost may seem high, but the resuts are worth it. Keep in mind the cleanser and toner alone will do almost nothing. *Be sure to use a good sunblock with these products.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Rose:

Our office uses Obagi products, but primarily for pigment issues, not acne per se.  You may want to get topical antibiotic therapy from a doctor, and for the brown spot use an OTC cream containing 2% hydroquinone (ask your pharmacist.)  If that fails, there are prescription-strngth creams.

Best.
