Painful Leg spots/discoloration

I would like and idea on the possibilities of what this condition is that I've had on my legs for several years now. It starts out as medium sized red marks that seem warm to touch and slightly painful then over time turn to a bruise-like color and the underlying tissue seems "dissolved" I have a few now on both legs. One bigger then all the rest and they all are rather sensitive to the touch. Any ideas? Treatments?

Gardner diamond syndrome does occur in young women too.Again I reiterate it is not a serious problem.Of course other purpuras may simulate this condition, but the picture reminds me of this.Do get confirmed by a derm.

I'm not postmenopausal though. I'm 27
I had a doc once tell me it might be Erythema Nodosum but when I search the pics don't really look exactly like what I have, even though they do exist on the same part of the shin....
