Idiot Rash?

3 days ago I woke up with what I thought was flea bites on my chest. (we have 3 dogs)  I was wrong.   Flea bites don't spread to back, tummy, arms, legs, arse, neck, tops of feet.

Let's see if I can accurately describe the bumps.  red, raised, most (but, not all) have what looks like a white "head" on them. they're filled with some kind of fluid, that when they pop, stings and burns for less than a minute, then don't bother me after that.  after they pop, around the edges it almost looks like a scab, dry, peelable skin.

I've been using hydrocortisone cream, but when the cream dries, it feels as if I'm "crusty" so I only use it when I'm out in public.  when I'm at home, I just use rubbing alcohol after I shower.

That's about it, I haven't changed soaps, detergents, or tried any new food, I don't use any lotion or cream on a regular basis.

No one else in the famiy has this, so I don't think it's contagious, or "spreadable".

Got any suggestions?

Thanx in advance

Linda, this comment is for you.  My father had also been diagnosed with an auto immune disease, but they changed the diagnosis (Not to sure the doctors even know what they are dealing with). He also developed a rash. OUt of curiosity what auntoimmune disease do you have? Did the rash start once you had symptoms of the other problem? Or once you started steroids?
Thanks.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
When a rash spreads that fast and over such a widespread body area, it's usually a virus in the system manifesting itself mainly (or even exclusively) on the skin.  As with any other viral symptoms (like runny nose or cough) treatment is just to minimize the symptoms while the body takes care of itself.

I would just treat your skin with mild soap and moisture lotion and watch the rash go away.  If it hasn't done so in 4 more days, I'd see a doc, though I doubt you'll have to.

Best.
