Peely toes.

My son had scarlatina 2 weeks ago, and for the last week or so all the skin is peeling off of his toes.  One foot has a section of skin from under his big toe all the way to his pinky toe, that is peeling off in one giant chunk.  it is dead skin that is drying out, but I cant get him to let me clip it off, and it keeps getting larger every day.  Is this an after effect of the sickness or from the anti-biotic?  Also, he has always had a yeast problem, and takes a daily pro-biotic.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
This peeling of skin is due to the disease. Get it checked from a doctor as the skin may need to be removed and he may need a prescription of topical antibiotics like Neosporin or Bactroban to avoid any infection.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Do check in with doc right away to rule out Kawasaki disease in children.(Peeling of hands and feet post fever) . ofcourse allergy to antibiotic also has to be borne in mind.
