Penis - Unknown balanitis with conjunctivitis?

Ok here it goes, for the last 8 weeks I've had a rash/irritation on the tip of my penis, forskin and testicals, 2 days after I received oral sex. I also have conjunctivitis. I've been to my general Dr and he sent me to a dermatologist where I was told it was contact dermatitis I was also told that its not an STD, now this is going back 3 to 4 weeks ago that I saw the dermatolgist, so I changed my laundry detergent went out and bought boxers and changed my soap to Cetaphil. I have no blisters, no discharge nothing. I am waiting for the results of a fungal scrap while using an anti-fungal, also I'm using vaseline, recomended by the dematologist, and actually have gone through a jar already with little or no results. The other day while trying to make sence of this I came acros this site: http://www.skinatlas.com/balanitis1.htm, now I don't have any pealing like this man does, just irriatation. Also I am circumcised. This is becoming a strain on me and my girlfriends relationship. I think I'm being misdiagnosed, maybe because my Dermatologist has never seen this, maybe, maybe not. So my question is:
Is it possible that this is balanitis? I know you can't tell with out see it but I thought you might have an idea where I should go from here to get this problem fixed. Thanks

Good for you.  I have been using lotrizone for over a week, and although it helped at first, it didn't get rid of the problem.  Today I went to the dermatologist and she gave me Protopic ointment, which doesn't have a corticosteroid.  Hopefully this will do it.

Its been diving me nuts but I think I've got it on the run since I posted this I came across an article, more like the results of a study,
<a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&dopt=Abstract&list_uids=78188238">http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&dopt=Abstract&list_uids=78188238</a>

so I figured what the hell what's the worse it can do. Anyway I started using Lotrimin with clotrimazole, also I don't know if this is also helping but I started taking vitamin b complex and vitamin e, now I'm not sure if this is the reason why I'm seeing inprovment but I am and with in the last 2 days, hopyfully it will continue. Let me know how it works out.

I forgot to mention.  This all started the day after a "hand job" from a girl I was dating.

That sounds a lot like symptoms I am having now (minus the conjunctavitis).  I've had irriation/redness on the head of my penis for the last 3 weeks.  The Dr (Urologist) said "contact dermatitis" also, and game me a corticosteroid/antifungal cream (Lotrisone) which decreased the irritation, but not eliminated it.  I also insisted on a herpes blood test, which came out negative (however, it only tested for short term anitbodies, so I am going back for one Tuesday) and got a 10 day prescription for valtrex.  I am going to a dermatologist on Tuesday to get looked at again.  Please post if you find out anything or find anything that works.  I will do the same.  Thanks.

Balanitis just means eczema of the penis.  Many doctors use the term contact dermatitis to mean the same thing.  The photo you cite is pretty gross--most cases are much milder than that.  Changing underwear and detergents never helps much.

In short, I don't think you have an STD or that you've been misdiagnosed.  I also don't see any reason for your relationship with your girlfriend to be strained.  When the fungus culture proves negative (I think it will), just follow your doctor's instructions concerning mild topical treatment.  You'll do fine.

Best.
