Permanent callus or what?!

2 years or so ago I had some sort of callus on my finger. I put callus remover acid on it and noticed it got worse. After that acid remover the hardened skin left but the new skin was very red and painful. After that the callus just comes back ALWAYS no matter what. It actually got bigger. It's sometime red and swollen or clear hardened skin. I think it has to do with how much pressure I put on it that day. I hate it. I don't know what to do. Please help
