Pigment Changes

I am 25 and female.
The last two months I have seen some strange skin changes. I have "tanned" around my eyes and on my forehead, I have hundreds of new moles all over my body as well as larger "tan" patches in random areas, and the front of my neck has darkened in a way that makes it look dirty. I understand freckling from sun exposure, but have never gotten a freckle in my life...not to mention its February, my skin in most areas hasnt seen daylight since august.
I even have moles now on my feet and palms of my hands as well as a "tan" on my waistline/pelvic creases.
Should I see a dermatologist?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
One possibility for your pigment changes can be melasma. Melasma is caused by hormonal changes, which stimulate a temporary increase in your body's production of melanin. People with darker complexions are more prone to this condition than people with lighter skin.

Treatment options include treatment with vitamin C and hydrocortisone, peel with carbon dioxide snow and alexandrite and ND-Yag Q-Switched laser treatment preceded by a hydroquinone-based application. Please discuss these options with your dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
