Thank You for your reply. Im not sure if it is in any way related but about three weeks ago I tested positive for chlamydia. I was treated with azithromycin and all seems to be well at this point. However, I did actually notice the bumps while I was on this antibiotic. Thats not to say thats when they appeared but thats when I actually noticed. Are there any otc creams that can be used for this? Thanks Again
Hi,
What you describe could be sweat dermatitis or heat rash or miliaria ( prickly heat).
Does the rash increase with sweat or sun exposure? Do you remember any other trigerring factors?
You should try to keep the area dry and clean. Try some powder to absorb the sweat. Use a medicated sunscreen lotion - preferably one prescribed by a skin specialist and re apply it every 2 hrs.
You need to wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products or even dish soap at the sites.
Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene .
Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin.
If the symptoms are still persistent, consult a dermatologist and get a proper clinical evaluation done.
Let us know if you have any doubts and keep us posted on how you are doing.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
