Oh my goodness! This has been such a help. I am also 17, I've never had any type of sexual contact, and I too have this problem. Mine are just white heads, they don't hurt that bad and I did pop one. I only saw about two. I was so scared. Now that I know that it's probably not an std,  I feel much better. I was wondering how i could possibly have bumps without ever having sex. I did recently Nair the **** out of my bikini area, so it could be some type of irritation.

Hi,
Acne develops as a result of blockages in follicles. Hyperkeratinization and formation of a plug of keratin and sebum (a microcomedo) is the earliest change. Whiteheads are the direct result of skin pores becoming clogged with sebum, a naturally occurring oil, and dead skin cells. In these conditions the naturally occurring largely commensual bacteria Propionibacterium acnes can cause inflammation.

Widely available OTC bactericidal products containing benzoyl peroxide may be used in mild to moderate acne. The gel or cream containing benzoyl peroxide is rubbed, twice daily, into the pores over the affected region. Bar soaps or washes may also be used and vary from 2 to 10% in strength.

Externally applied antibiotics such as erythromycin, clindamycin, Stievamycin, or tetracycline aim to kill the bacteria that are harbored in the blocked follicles.
