Possible Eczema on head, ears, cheek and nose... please help...

Hi,
A couple of months ago I had a red rash/dry spot show up on my bridge of my nose and my left part of my face under my eye. Since that time I have confirmed Eczema in my ears and on my scalp. Although the ears and scalp are annoying the spots on my face are really bothering me. I work in a professional environment and even with makeup they do not look very attractive. Prior to this rash/spots on my face showing up, I was vacationing in the Caribbean and they have not gone away. Is there anything I can do? They are dry like Eczema but very red in colour and hard to keep hidden. Any suggestions??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance!

Hello,
First of all was the diagnosis of eczema confirmed for these dry red patches on the nose? This is because eczema often presents with itchy, red, dry and flaky skin. If the rash is non itchy then dry skin or seborrheic dermatitis of the face are important differentials to be ruled out.

Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky, dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp under the nose or anywhere on face. Topical antifungals and mild steroids are the usual treatment and combination of the two can be used to treat stubborn patches. Oral antifungal drugs and immunomodulators such as tacrolimus and pimecrolimus are used in very severe cases. The other possibilities are of eczema, lupus erythematosus or dermatitis. Best would be to consult a dermatologist and get biopsy skin done to confirm the diagnosis.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hi, thanks for your query. Use a good moisturiser and a good concealer for now. It will take sometime for it to reduce. Contact a dermatologist if the problem persist.
