Possible Ringworm or Other Skin Infection?

So about 2 - 3 months ago, I woke up one morning to find circular patterns (rings) on my left forearm. I googled the symptom, and it very closely resembled ringworms. My mom suggested I leave it alone since there weren't any other symptoms accompanying it, but a month, month and a half later, it still hadn't gone away. Some of the rings had gotten bigger, but still no other symptoms (i.e. headaches, itchiness, etc.).

I eventually went to the Mayo Clinic, and the doctor (physician?) there wasn't exactly exactly sure what it was (possibly because I left it alone too long), so he prescribed me some clotrimazole cream in the meanwhile. About 3 - 4 weeks later, the rings are definitely starting to recede, but very, very slowly. I'm worried that this might not be ringworms at all.

Has anyone else had this problem? And if so, any suggestions?

Here's what I know about it so far:
- Circular rash on arm; feels different, but not raised or itchy or flaky. Just slightly brown and light reddish-brown.
- One is about the size of 2 to 3 quarters, while others are the size of pennies or smaller.
- No strange symptoms since I found them.
- Been anywhere from 2 - 3 months now.
- Slowly receding, but still there. Not sure if it's because of time or the clotrimazole cream.
- No one else in my family has it.
- Haven't changed my diet or eaten anything strange.
- Shower once a day (or twice when working), and wash my hands frequently.

I plan on going to see a dermatologist within the next month, but I'm at a financial situation right now where I don't have health insurance and work part-time. I would rather not go if it's not an emergency because appointments tend to be expensive.

I'd appreciate any help or suggestions anyone can offer. Thanks in advance.

We can't tell you for what you have from a brief description online- that really takes an in person exam and gathering more detailed health information to get a diagnosis, in combination with running tests at times.  If this rash is getting better and you are not seeing any additional symptoms- I wouldn't overly worry about it.  Keep using the cream that you were given as prescribed and if it gets worse, develop other symptoms, or stops healing up- you should get into the doctor for a follow up or see an additional doc.

Cool, thanks for the answer. I was just worried because pretty much anyone who's ever had it said that it healed up in a couple weeks at most, but mine is passing the second month now. On the other hand, I always did heal slower when it comes to bruises, scars or rash-like symptoms.
