Rash, swelling

Saturday night/Sunday morning, my skin started to itch intensely.  It started on my legs.  In the morning, I was itchy from head to toe and had a light, blotchy rash all over my body - most noticeable on the torse.  I was already on Zyrtec and Singulair for allergies/sinus issues but have never experienced anything like this before.  I took 8mg of medrol I had on hand and it quickly went away.  Monday night/Tuesday morning, a sore-throat developed, my left tonsil enlarged but no pustules.  I went to see my dr., who did a rapid strep test, which came back negative, but she said it looked streppy enough that she was going to culture it (results not in yet).  Tuesday night, my hands started itching so intensely I got up in the middle of the night to wash my hands and could barely fall back asleep.  When I did wake in the morning, my lips and chin were very swollen, as were my hands, my left hand more than my right.  The blotchiness (slightly pink, not raised, no sores, etc) had returned, on my torso.  My throat, tongue and eyes were normal.  The swelling and rash has dissipated slowly throughout the day.  I have not changed anything (soaps, shampoo, etc) nor have been exposed to anything abnormal (food or environmental).  Any ideas on what this may be???

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Such a rash which comes and goes is due to hives which is usually due to an allergic reaction or due to viral infections. The sore throat, fever and sinus issues can all be related to the viral infection. Use a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Also use cotton clothes and change the clothes twice if there is any increased sweating. Try keeping the skin free of sweat as far as possible. If the symptoms still persist then you can apply mild steroid and take some antihistaminic like Benadryl.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing

My blood pressure's normal.  My husband sleeps next to me every night and he's had no issues.  I have never been anemic, and am checked on a regular basis as I am a blood donor (my last donation was several weeks ago, though)
