Rash/Infection

I worked full time this summer in a factory, so I spent alot of time sweating. I devolped jock itch, that didnt seem to want to leave. I adventually went to the doctor and was prescribed some anti-fungal cream which helped clear it up. Although,  I still had one problem. The skin that is revelead on my penis when I have erection looks very red, dry, and chapped. The head, and skin also occasionally burns when I put moisturizing cream on it. I have not had any sexual intercourse for months, and I used a condom, so I can rule out an STD. One doctor said it was a yeast infection, but I wasnt prescribed any other cream, he told me to use the rest of the stuff that I was using for my jock itch, which didnt last long enough to help at all. This problem has been going on for a couple weeks now, and I was wondering if I could get your opinion.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Chronic fungal infection can present as dry lesion but it can mimic eczema also. This can be due to an allergic reaction (say to body lotions, condoms, soaps etc) or it can be a skin condition like eczema, dermatitis etc or it can be a fungal infection. Other than that it can be a simple bacterial infection or balanitis. I suggest you to get a KOH examination of the skin scrapings done. The other method is by getting a biopsy skin done.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
