Rash near groin..

I slept with a girl 2 days ago and woke up this morning with a red rash around the groin with some pimples here and there.... It doesnt burn or itch too much, but it does a little... The girl I have known for a while, she claims she was tested last month and she is clean..  Do I have anything to be worried about??

Hello,
The other possibilities are of folliculitis and sweat dermatitis. I would suggest that you apply calamine lotion and a simple antimicrobial cream like Bactroban or Neosporin on the rash and keep the area clean. If the symptoms persist then topical steroids and oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

I woke up this morning to the redness to have gone down a little, but more pimples in the little pouch area between my stomach and private area(thats where the rash is). I wear cotton boxer briefs daily and I shower daily... What is your opinion on what is happening??

Hello,
It can be contact dermatitis, sweat dermatitis, fungal infections or dermatitis. Wash your groin daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. Also wear cotton underwear and change them twice a day and do not share other people’s towels. Application of local antifungal cream (terbinafine, clotrimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, miconazole) also helps in relieving the symptoms.

If the symptoms persist then please consult a dermatologist.
Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
