Rash on Scrotum

For the past two days I have had a rash surrounding my entire scrotum and some on the area behind my penis.  It appears "scaley" or flakey kinda.. some redness but without itch and minimal discomfort. After taking a shower the softeness of the skin turns back to normal... after a couple of hours..then returns to harder "Flakey" appearance.. Is this a major concern (STD) or would some type of cream..(hydrocortisone) or something stronger (bactroban) work.

This sounds like dry skin or eczema, not an STD.  Bactroban wouldn't help much, because that's for bacteria.  I would try hydrocortisone 1% and lubrication.  Avoid rubbing, but you say it doesn't itch.

If you can't clear it up in 3-5 days, or if it recurs, you should see a doctor for proper diagnosis.

Take care.
