Rash on upper inner thigh

I've had a red rash on the left side of my crotch for about 8 months. I've been keeping it at bay with a couple of different prescription creams that I had laying around; clobetasol propionate .05% and triamcino/eucerin.  These helped the rash to almost disappear, but just when I'd thought it was getting better and could discontinue use, it would flare back up and I would continue use of the creams.  I recently ran out both creams and decided change my tactic.  I bought some over the counter lotrimin for jock itch.  Two days into using it, my rash is painfully burning and a deeper shade of red than it has ever been.  I am actually having trouble moving around because of the pain.  I am now assuming it is not jock itch.  Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If the clobetasol propionate was working, then it may be that this rash is eczema or psoriasis.
Not all ointments are the same, and are not designed to treat every rash equally.
Your best bet is to see a doctor and get a diagnosis...not to mention some good prescription strength cream/ointment.
