Rash over entire body

I have gotten a rash on my chest about a week ago. I went to the doctor and was diagnose with a fungus on my skin she told me it wasn't ring worm because it has no ring, but it was a fungus because of its has raised edges. I have been given a week supply of spranox and pevisone. The rashes on my upper chest have began to subside, they have flattened and have slight scaly features. However i have developed on my back stomach and hands, some of them are very visible while others are only seen in light, How long do you think it will take to heal? O did she make the wrong diagnosis? Also what can be used to get rid of the marks left behind.

Hello,
For the scars, treatment involves hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. You can use any of them. Please discuss these options with your dermatologist before using them. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

thanks for the reply Bhupinder Kaur you have made me feel considerable better i have another doctor's appointment next week. I believe my rash was pityriasis rosea however on a good note the rashes have seem to subside and began to heal, all redness is gone. I have a problem though i have alot of scars. I am of India decent and the areas where the rashes were are slightly pigmented and the skin seems lose, there is a lot of peeling occurring as well. Can you tel me of ways to promote healing of my skin. I have to cover my body to hide my scars and i want them to leave as soon as possible. Thank you

Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be due to pityriasis rosea. The other possibilities are of contact dermatitis, sweat dermatitis, hives or fungal infection. Pityriasis rosea is a common human skin disease which presents as numerous patches of pink or red oval rash. The rash may be accompanied by low-grade headache, fever, nausea and fatigue and itching. Topical and oral steroids are needed. Water, sweat, and soap may cause irritation and should be avoided in the disease. Topical zinc oxide and calamine lotion are useful for pruritus.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
