There is no history of an insect bite and no signs of pain or enlarged nodes in the area. The rash just appeared out of no where. I did change detergents, but I do often and I didn't develope the rash anywhere else on my body. I just take birth control pills and have for several years, with no change in the medication.
Hi,
The cream is readily absorbed by the skin so just apply it sparingly. Also, you may want to ask your physician about the right dosage of the corticosteroid that you need to use. Medium to high potency corticosteroids with antifungal preparations may be the choice. Do not self medicate as this may only worsen the condition.
Is there no history of an insect bite?
Any signs of pain or enlarged nodes in the area?
Yes, it is the Hydrocortisone 1%. I have only applied it 3 times, but it hard to keep on there since my clothing is touching it. I do not have a history of allergies or asthma. Fortunately, I am a very healthy person. I do shave the area frequently. I have never formed a rash before though.
Hi,
This may be a dermatitis or a fungal infection. But due to the abruptness of the rash, a contact or irritant dermatitis is more likely. The steroid may not readily relieve this after one application. You may ask your physician about the right dose of corticosteroid for your condition. You may need a higher dose for the rash. Hydrocortisone 1% , is this the cream that you are using? If yes, this is a low potency steroid cream.
Also, do you have any history of allergies or asthma?
Do you shave the area or use creams and lotions in the area?
