Red Patch on glans

I have a red patch on glans, which does not hurt, or ich, no secretion, and  is plane. Initially, it appears as a scaly small spot that used to disappears on wetting. Later on it extended as oval shape red patch. Doctor says it may be post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Any suggestions

Thanks tschock for your comments, yes I have seen dermatologist and he has looked it closer and said that it is benign and suggested me a cream called Pevisome for three weeks. I got appointment with specialist as well in January. I am posting a picture , have you marked the same appearance for your husband.

Ask to see a dermatologist. It could be anything from that to psoriasis to skin cancer. You never know. A second opinion is always best.

Have you seen a dermatologist? Any time you get something like that, I would suggest seeing an expert. My husband started off with a small scaly patch of skin...doctor said it was psoriasis...gave him steroidal creams that made it worse...turns out it was skin cancer.
I am NOT saying you have skin cancer! I am just telling you this so that you will get a second opinion.
BTW the patch was the size of a pencil eraser at first....it took 7 years for it to "explode" in size, which it did when it was introduced to the corticosteroids and steroids. Cancer thrives on that stuff!
