Hi,
In the absence of a significant sexual history, this may be a superficial skin infection. A differential for this will be a boil or folliculitis.
These skin infections are caused by staphylococcus aureus, a type of bacteria that resides in the skin.A cut or injury in the skin may cause invasion of the bacteria and subsequent infections.
You may need an oral antibiotic for this. Folliculitis may be contagious. A boil may enlarge and eventually drain. A complete course of oral antibiotics may readily help resolve the skin condition. Discuss this with your physician so you may be prescribed the right medications.
Hi.
I'm am a virgin, so no history there.
I haven't had any previous infections, no signs of enlarged lymph nodes.
No fever, joint paints or any signs of a rash.
Thank-you so much for your time =)
Hi,
I just have a few questions :
As this is relevant to your case, may I ask if you have any history of unprotected sex?
Any previous infections in the area before?
With regards to this bump, are there other similar bumps in the area or in other parts of the body?
Any signs of enlarged lymph nodes in the groin area ?
Any fever or joint pains? Any rash ?
im no med student... yet ! but it seems like an ingorwn hair or pimple.... one question is it on top of yer...member ... or is it just hanging out around it ? also if you have had multiple partners you might wanna get a screening ! just to be safe and protect yerself and others
