Red bumps

Hello,

I've been doing some research on this symptom and haven't found anything that quite matches what I have. A friend pointed out today that I have a bunch of red bumps around my neck. On further inspection, I've seen them all on my upper torso, some near my armpits. They range in size from the tip of a pen to a blotchy red spot the size of a small mole. They aren't tender, they don't itch, and they don't appear to be filled with anything. I have hair pretty much all over my chest/stomach so it's hard to say if the bumps are formed with hair follicles, but it doesn't appear that way. I've noticed smaller groups of them before in the past, but since they've never bothered me I never thought to ask about it. What exactly could this be and is there anything to do to get rid of them? I'd appreciate any input.

Hello,
Thank you for responding! I understand that a proper diagnosis can't be given online and am fine with that. I was just looking for possible explanations of what I might have. Over the past 2-3 days, the bumps have started to fade away though, and I don't know why. I didn't think this was related to the bumps, but I'd been sick for the past week, roughly. My getting over my sickness seems to have coincided with the bumps going away. All I had was a mild cough and low fever.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but pityriasis rosea is one of the possibilities for such symptoms and needs to be ruled out. Pityriasis rosea is a common human skin disease which presents as numerous patches of pink or red oval rash. The rash may be accompanied by low-grade headache, fever, nausea and fatigue and sometimes by itching.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
