Red dotty lump on finger, what is it?!

Over the last few months, what at first looked like a little red dot, has become a red, raised, wart like growth. On occasion it has bled heavily all of a sudden, however I'm not sure whether this is due to me catching it on something, as it is towards the end of my middle finger. It has not bled for the last month, it continues to become more pronounced, but doesn't seem to be growing any further. It is not painful, I have not noticed any other symptoms. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? Thank you ever so much!

When a "growth" is very red and inflamed, this indicates there is an infection.  Infections can spread, and because of that it is wise to get seen by the doctor. Whether this a wart that is forming that may or may not surface, I do not know.

Make that appointment to get it looked at by your doctor  and see what the doctor comes up with.

Let me know how things go.

Best wishes.

Thanks so much for your reply jemma116.

I haven't picked at it, the dried skin is slowly healing from the last time the skin broke and it bled I think.

If it is a wart, will it develop to a point that it can be frozen? Also, is there any chance of it spreading, or anything I should be doing?

Thanks again!! I will make an appointment with my doctor as well

Have you been picking at the top layer of dried skin?  It does look like it could be a wart.

If it is a wart the doctor can freeze it, not sure though if he can do that the way it is.

Because it does look very red and quite aggressive, make an appointment to see your doctor so that he can give you the correct diagnosis and any appropriate medication and advice.

Let me know what the doctor says.
