Red rash in the perineum

If you read the message below, from a post on this site in 2009,it pretty much sums up what I have been living with for close to 30 years now and have had numerous dermatology doctors try to diagnose, or at least rule out a diagnosis, for its cause.  The only relief that I ever managed was a dermatologist told be to use Kerodex 71, which is no longer being made, as a barrier cream.  I would really really appreciate any insight on how to get rid of the scourge.

Here is the experience that mirrors mine

I have had a persistent irritiation / redness right smack in the perineum.  I had other symptoms like a really red anus but after seeing 2 different dermatologist 6 different times we have cleared that up with steroid cream (topicort).  However the redness in the perineum will not give up.  It has been 4 months now.  It does not burn or itch, it just feels irritated.  It is annoying everytime I walk and it starting to really wear on me.

I have tried everything that I can think of to just get rid of it.  The dermatologist does not seem to have any answers either.

Anyone have any suggestions?
