Ringworm, getting worse or getting better?

Hi,

I've had ring worm for approximately a month and a half on the inside of my finger. It's in the shape of a ring, it's definitely ring worm. I've been applying antifungal cream (clotrimazole cream) two times a day, sometimes missing a day. But I've been pretty good about it. Recently it started to develop these little bumps that look like black heads, and itched a lot. I popped them, dried my hand off and applied more cream...it relieved the itching, and looked like it was getting better, so every time they came back I'd pop them... but today I've got more of those bumps than before. It looks like I've got a ring INSIDE the other ring now... I can't tell if this is just the fungus coming out, or if it's getting worse and I should stop with this popping method (I thought that if I popped it...the cream could get further into the skin)...

I would appreciate any help or suggestions! I'm so sick of having this thing on my hand :(

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL

Hello,
First of all, you need to get the diagnosis confirmed from your doctor and get a KOH examination of the skin scrapings done to find out whether it is fungal infection. Most cases of ring worm respond to over-the-counter products, which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hi thank you for replying. I have a doctors appointment for next Friday, it took me awhile to set up because I've just moved. I've started putting on tea tree oil and then the rite aid clotrimazole cream several times a day and it seems to be helping, at least it doesn't look so gross. I was thinking about it and I've had this ring worm for around 3 months, so maybe it is a resistant type or something. Anyway I just wanted to thank you for replying!
