SKIN with Fungal infection contact with HIV semen risk

I Just want to ask, I had frottage (sexual rubbing ) with HIV positive guy and his semen landed on my itchy scrotum with mild fungal infection. no cuts or bleeding but Im wondering if im at risk for contracting HIV. thank you

I would think there could be micro-tears on your scrotum.  You should see your doctor for the possibility of receiving prophylactic antiretrovirals.

I check my scrotum in the mirror and I havent seen any tears or laceration it, theres no obvious inflammation or redness in the area. It purely skin. Im just afraid.

If there was contact with the semen and you had any open sores, cuts, skin infections causing microtears due to scratching, then it can act as portal of entry for HIV infection. You should get tested for HIV. HIV testing is done with a blood test and is done in full confidentiality. The blood is first tested by ELISA test which is a screening test which looks for antibodies in the blood. Then if it is positive then Western blot test is done to look for specific proteins of HIV. Confirmation is only done by specific tests for HIV like western blot, PCR and ELISA. These tests may show accuracy after 6 weeks to 6 months as HIV antibodies take time to develop in the body.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. Hello Doctor,

Thank you so much for that information. I am also a medical student.

I examine my groin area and the skin is intact, der is no abrasion, sores or cuts. There is lichenification in the are due to prolonged scratching.

6 hours prior to the incident I didnt scratch the area.

My medical doctor told me that you dont need Post exposure prophylaxis for this event.

I will be tested 3 months after this incident and I will let you know.
