Scalp problems

Hello , when i was 16 years old i wasn't washing my hair oftenly.Only 1 time  a weak. After a few months i started having a burning sensation, some very small bumps and redness on the mid scalp. The pain became unberable.I also had some crust when i scratched it with my nails but i couldn't see any dundruff.I was also left with thinning hair.I used ketokonazole and nizoral and after around 2-3 weeks the redness and the burning sensation went away.My hair never came back though. Now i'm 21 and i've been trying to regrow my hair.Note that my crown area is really thick and so does my hair line.My mid scalp and some front is thin though. The hairloss hasn't been worse all those years.I've also done a blood test and my iron levels are 41 and ferritin is ok.My doctor prescribed me some iron for 2 months.I've also used minoxidil for 2 months during the summer and my hair became really thick. After i stopped it the hair thinned again but not as bad as it were.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
These symptoms can be due to telogen effluvium. See the growth cycle of hair is in two phases, anagen or growth phase and telogen or resting phase. During telogen, the resting hair remains in the follicle until it is pushed out by growth of a new anagen hair. In telogen effluvium, a large number of hair enter telogen at one time. When they start growing they do it together and so they will take some time to grow back.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

why don't my hair regrow on their own?Could this have harmed the hair follices for ever? The pain and the burning sensation was unberable when this happened.Could this have triggered a chronic tellogenium elfivium?I did the hair pull test on the back and sides of the scalp and i get around 5 hair.My iron levels must have been low for all this time cause i was pale and dizzy for many years and ive never done a blood test.I don't have mpb running in my family and 16 years old is so rare for someone to bald especialy with no family history of mpb.

You did the right treatment.  You can periodically use the shampoo again just to keep the scalp clear.

Check for food allergies.  Skin problems are often linked with Celiac disease, and if you can't tolerate gluten, stopping eating all wheat protein (and the other ones like barley, rye, hops, etc), you might have some hair regrowth.
