Hi, I also have the tingling sensation on my scalp, I have had it for 2 weeks,  but I also feel lightheaded do you believe this would have to do with the thyroid?  Have many family members with big thyroid problems.

I will be seen my doctor today

Hello,

How are you?

The same answer is applicable to your query also.Try taking some vit B 12 supplements for some days and see if there is any improvement in symptoms. If the symptoms persist then the other possibilities that I have mentioned need to be ruled out.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted if you have any additional queries.

Thanks for your response. I hardly ever drink alcohol and my doctor checked my blood sugar and didnt say anything was wrong with it... she actually took several things of blood and checked everything from AIDS to Lupas...  the only problems I had were something to do with inflammation; my c-reative proteins were 29.9 and i needed more vitamin D.

Hello,

This tingling sensations that you are having are called Paresthesia. Chronic paresthesia indicates a problem with the functioning of neurons.

Are you a diabetic or do you take alcohol?Parasthesias are common in alcoholics and metabolic disorders like diabetes, hypothyroidism, and hypoparathyroidismThey can also be due to vitamin B12 deficiency or malnutrition.

Get your blood sugar and thyroid hormones levels evaluated. You can take some vit B12 for some days and see if the tingling is gone or not.

In case the symptoms persist then pls consult a neurologist as it can be due to some neurological disorder. Common disorders causing paraesthesias are transient ischemic attack, motor neurone disease, or autoimmune disorders like multiple sclerosis or lupus erythematosus. A diagnostic evaluation by a doctor is necessary to rule these out.

Treatment will depend on the diagnosis.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted in case you have any additional queries.Kind regards.

I too have tingling sensations.. usually just on the right side and it comes and goes.. I do have blood pressure problems and thought that may be it.  I am a little worried. I asked my doc once and she said it was probably just sinus.. I dont know if I want to believe that.. I just hope its not a sign and I need to get it checked..
