Scared to Death!

I am 34 I have had the same sex partner for over 2 years. I get tested every year for STD's and HIV. This January I was diagnosed with HSV-2 my HIV test was negative. I have had no symptoms of HSV-2 but my doctor prescribed Valtrex. In March I began to have pus-like pimples on my scalp and face it drove me crazy for over a month. I went to the ER and was diagnosed with folliculitius and was given steroid and abx for 2 weeks. The pimples went away on my scalp but the one's on my face come and go. The 3rd week I got caught in the rain and woke up with a sore throat for a day or two then came the sinus drainage and chest congestion. Everything is ok now except for a little chest congestion. Now I have had little sore spots in my mouth that go and come. AM I DYING or what? Do I need another HIV test?

Thanks, for responding I have increased my fluids I started taking Vitamin C on Friday. The AIDS websites can scare you not have intercourse anymore. The symptoms for AIDS are also the same symptoms as some other infections. The little sores went away but if I start on my Valtrex like it was given to me in January I may not have these small out breaks. I will pick up the prescription today after I thought about eventhough I haven't had any gential symptoms of HSV-2 if it's in my blood I should take my medicine. Will the Valtrex make me sick and will it weaken my immune system? I am very thankful for this website because I don't feel comfortable talking to my friends or family.

Thanks,
Beautiful

Hi,

The sore throat may have been a viral infection. Infection and stress may also cause the sore spots in your mouth.  Canker sores or aphthous ulcers, are small sores that occur inside the mouth and may also show up in small clusters. A small red bump rises and may bursts, leaving an open, shallow white or yellowish wound with a red border. The sores are often painful. Most canker sores will heal on their own in a few days to a couple of weeks. If it persists, have this evaluated further for proper management. Strengthen your immunity by drinking plenty of fluids and taking vitamin C. You can also have another HIV test to ease your anxiety and worries. Take care and keep us posted.
