Scrotum fungus infection?

One day I looked into my underwear and found that some of the skin on my scrotum did not look like the other parts. Unlike the rest of the skin, this part lost all of its wrinkles and have a bumpy look to them. This area also itches extremely, and I believe it is some sort of fungal infection. It has also spread to my inner thighs. I've been using Dettol to clean it, but after the pain from the Dettol acidity the itching comes back. If this is a fungal infection what can I do to get rid of it? please help. This has gone on for weeks, the treatments aren't seeming to help and I'm close to calling a quits.

You can try an over the counter cream for jock itch to see if that helps- but if that doesn't, I'd encourage you to seek care from your doctor so you can get a more accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
