Skin Atrophy On Face Due to Bleaching

At 17 i started using a skin lightener to even out dark spots and lighten my skin....things worked fine

at 18 i made the mistake of using a small blue bottle on my face that lightened my face in patches

moreso i believe just making some skin on my face thinner than the rest in a patch

which i read could be Skin Atrophy ...  (from the picture big circle of light skin on cheek)

i believe its thin because its been lighter than the rest of my face for over 2 years now...and ive gotten skin peels which make it appear even bur only for 2 weeks until all the skin grows back to normal

so when all my skin is thin its even....

i read protopic can make the skin thick again and even it out......any suggestions doc i really need help

any treatments?

Hi,

There could be several causes of these white spots. It would be best to consult your doctor with your parents to find out the cause in your case and plan the further management accordingly.

Some of the perceived causes are emotional stress, hereditary factors, worms, sunburns and physical illness. This skin condition can be aggravated due to diseases like hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, pernicious anemia and Addison's disease.

Fungal infections of the human body are very common, and are often quite bothersome. One such example is a condition known as tinea versicolor, a superficial yeast infection that produces white spots on the skin that are difficult to remove.

You should talk to your doctor and rule out the above causes.

Let us know if you need any other information.

Regards.
