Skin discoloration from mosquito bites

My 3 year old daughter is bi-racial and after being bitten my mosquito's is left with dark marks on her legs.  Initially we thought they would fade like a scar but after months they are still there.  Any suggestions on how to make them fade without bleaching medication?

I have the same issue. My daughter just got home from a 2 month summer vacation in Jamaica. Her little feet and legs are totally covered with mosquito bites.

A co-worker of mine recommended I try Wheat-Germ Oil. She said her son was badly affected by chicken pox and a doctor recommended it to her. I just purchased the Wheat-Germ Oil today at the Vitamin Shoppe (CVS and other Rx stores did not carry it). A 16 Fl Oz jar for $12.49. I was told ti would take months to see results, but I'd rather start her on something sooner than later.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Hello,
The darkened spots are due to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The treatment for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. But in a 3 year old, these treatments are not safe.I would suggest you to apply calamine lotion on the scars and these should go away in a couple of months.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or in case you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
