Small hole in skin in groin area

Im assuming this is a dermatology issue. But my husband has a small hole ( kinda like a big pimple that has popped)in the groin area, between his leg and scrotum. It looks as though it is over a blood vessel. He says it is very painful. I told him to give up  whitey tighties for a while, but im wondering if any one knows what it could be and how to  get it to heal. (it has been there for about a week and doesnt look any better)

Hello,
From the symptoms it can be a sebaceous cyst which has ruptured. The other option is of a fistula which is opening outside on the surface of skin. A sebaceous cyst is a closed sac occurring just under the skin which contains a "pasty" or "cheesy" looking substance called keratin.

I suggest you to consult a dermatologist and get the diagnosis confirmed.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
