Spots on Tongue

Hi,

I have just noticed and it's bothering me about purple spots on my tongue around the edges.  I thought it was scars from drinking hot tea or eating hot foods, burning my tongue quite often...now I am worried.  Are the spots normal?  How do I take care of this???

What could it all be?

Hi, I am 46 yrs.  Just had my cycle 6 days ago and experiencing soreness and tenderness in my breast going on third day, feeling as though I'm about to come back on my cycle.  I am not pregnant.  No birth control pills.  Just came off my cycle, which is regular.  What could this be?  Thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
HI,

Are there other symptoms present? Trauma or biting injury in the tongue may cause bleeding into the tissue just under the skin and may look like purple-blue color. Also, middle-aged or older people may also develop varicose veins in the mouth, including the tongue.  If this persists for more than 2 weeks, have this evaluated further by your doctor or specialist for proper management.

Take care and regards.
