Spots on fingertips

Over recent months, I have had ocassional periods where I saw many tiny black flecks on the fingertips of one hand. Today I've noticed this has spread to both hands. At first I thought it must be something I've touched, but now I'm conviced its not that. Other than a slight tingling sensation, they do not feel any different from usual.

Ideas? Thanks!

are they thin like a line on the pinks of your nail near the sides?  i read somewhere that they could be from injury or some kind of heart issue...see your dr and ask him

You've stumped me.  Black flecks sound like external pigment from something you're touching or working with.  What you would get black flecks from is something I couldn't even guess at, but I don't know of any skin or internal diseases which have manifestations that look like that.  I think you will need to see a doctor about this.  If the condition is intermittent, take a photo to bring along in case the spots are not present when you go.

Take care.
