Staph infections

I just developed a staph infections it's all over my body and it just looks like I have a bunch of pimple and bites every where. I got medication for it but I was wondering how long it takes while on the medication for the symptoms to start getting better? And also how contagious is it? Like is it alright to go to work and out places and what should I do to try and not spread it to other people?

I started my antibiotics on Saturday and so far it just seems to be getting worse and the worst part is the doctor that prescribed the medicine didn't even tell me anything about what I had and if it was contagious or not. She just said she thought it was this and then since I believe I'm allergic to penicillin she gave the alternative to that but she did not take a culture and anything. She just gave me a prescription and sent me on my way.
I'm thinking about going to a different clinic today and making sure everything is okay just incase.
Is there anything I can do to stop it from worsening?

Hi

This appears to be a more generalized case of skin infection and you need to comply with your medications. Completing antibiotic therapy is important. Are you halfway into your medications? Any improvement with the skin condition so far?

Staph infections are contagious and may spread through skin to skin contact. Avoid touching this as you may also cause its spread in other parts of your body. The skin condition should resolve in a week's time given the right medication is given. Was a culture of the discharge done?

Well I am on oral antibiotics but they just seem to be getting worse. They don't ooze but you can tell that they have fluid in them because of the white heads some of them have. Is it normal that it all over and not just in one place on me?

Hi

How would you describe these pimples and bites? Do they ooze with discharge? Are they all over your body?

Are you taking oral medications?

I suggest that you have these areas covered and avoid frequently touching these areas. If this is staphylococcal infection direct skin to skin contact may hasten its spread. Wearing clothes to cover the area may be advisable. The antibiotics should elicit a response in a week's time. The skin condition should show some response by then. If there is discharge then the discharge should dry up by then.
