Hello,
Since the dermatologist has prescribed antihistaminics , so he must be thinking of atopic dermatitis or eczema. Take the antihistaminic and apply some calamine lotion on the rash. Also wear cotton clothes and keep the skin sweat free. If the symptoms persist then please get it examined from a dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
I went to the doctor and he prescribed me a weeks worth of Anti-histamine, and told me I had to find the cause which is something in my house. Does this sound right to you? Its been a week and the rash is fading but certainly not gone.
Hello,
From the areas involved, it can be due to intertrigo. It most commonly occurs due to bacterial, viral or fungal infection. An intertrigo usually appears red and raw-looking, and may also itch, ooze, and be sore.
I suggest you to get an examination done from a dermatologist and get it evaluated to confirm the diagnosis. Till then keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics.
