Stretched Thigh

Ok so I am 23 years old and on both of my inner thighs I have stretch marks at first it started from a little weight gain (not like a ton) so I figured that once I started loosing it would stop. It have not stopped and I have lost weight , they started on my upper inner thigh and have now moved to about mid thigh, the older ones have faded but I seem to be getting newer ones as well. The thing about them is that the marks themselves do not hurt, but the skin in all of my inner thighs from my knees up to my panty line feels weird. Its hard to describe, its like when I sit indian style or if the skin gets tugged on (like thighs sticks to husbands legs during sex) it hurts, it feel like my skin wants to rip. Is this an elasticity (sp?) issue or something else. I use lotion every day, so its not like they are dried out. I really dont want this to get worse, HELP!

Hi,

This depends on how severe the stretch marks are and if these are really stretch marks. Over the counter creams may not give immediate results and they may not be permanently effective.

Courses of laser therapy and microdermabrasion may help. This may be more of a cosmetic problem. You may discuss this with your physician. This may be more expensive but they may give better results.

None of my minor weight gain was rapid, I do exercise about 4 tiimes a week and I drink TONS of water, I just dont want this to get worse, shorts are bad enough right now, I want to keep wearing them though. If I were to go to a dermatoligist what kind of remedy do you think they would recommend?

Hi,

Do you suffer from dry skin ?

Are there any other associated conditions involved like rash and redness n the area?

This may not be something urgent although a dermatologist may be able to help you. Stretch marks as you have noted come with rapid changes in weight and this may cause skin problems.

Apply vitamin E cream in the area and keep the area clean and dry always. The cream will help keep the area moisturized to keep the skin supple.

Observe your condition. Engage in regular exercises to help keep the skin taut and the muscles toned. Drink plenty of water as dehydration may loosen skin.
