The Unusual Growth on the Skin of the Penis

Hello,

I have noticed the following ugly appearance on the skin of the head of my penis. I am not sexually active, and havent been for years. I am 31 years old. I was never circumsized, and I do not have any health problems. I am physically fit.

Even though I wash every day, I did notice that deep below the head of my penis, at the lower edge of it - where the head meets the skin that goes over the head (and usually covers it) - there is a series of white spots that seem to be etched-into the skin of the head of the penis all along the edge of its head. The skin there is bluish-red and these white spots look like tiny white colored cylinder-shaped ingots protruding out of the skin of the short neck of the head of the penis. Many of these spots seem to be living under the surface of the skin - but some appear to be protruding outside and could be perhaps somehow caught and pulled out.

It looks unclean overall - and I am not feeling comfortable about having a sexual relationship with a girl unless I look clean and healthy down there. I tried applying anti-fungal cream all along the surface where I see these abnormal looking colonies in the hopes of killing these infectious looking things - to no avail. It appears to be slightly spreading too as it wasnt this spread-out months before.

Can you please tell me what it is that I am facing - and how I can get rid of it?

Thanks.

Alex

I have seen this too, sounds a lot like what this gentleman is explaining.  Although now it is beginning to sort of detach as well.  It is white, pieces of skin, they don't hurt, or itch, and they are right at the base of my head.  Any thoughts?

It could ONLY be the symptom of something else other than HPV, as my original answer stated.

Please ask the doctor who prescribed the Aldara to give you a definitive--and presumably reassuring--answer.

Dear Dr. Rockoff,

After having purchased and applied Aldera for several days in a row - I found NO change in my dotted white growth at the base of the head of my penis. Seems Aldera is totally ineffective in my case.

They appear to be slightly spreading from where they normally used to be - and that is why I am concerned. Could this be anything else but the symptom of an HPV ?

You are describing "pearly penile papules."  They look just the way you describe them and are common, insignificant, and untreatable.

You need to make up your mind that these are normal and pose no bar to a healthy relationship.  If you need a doctor to examine you or a counselor to work with you to achieve this, then you ought to consult either or both.

Best.
