Unknown Bug Bite

I'm a seventy-four-ish lb eight teen year old female with depression & I'm not on any medications. Because of my depression I lay in bed just about twenty-four seven & I take very few showers. I don't have a balanced diet I only eat maybe once or twice a day and its usually junk food and I don't drink water. I have been getting these bites on my legs and arms but more recently they have been on the area between my lower back and buttocks, my ankles, and lower abdomen. They appear out of nowhere I don't feel a bug biting me but i feel like there is something crawling on me only when I lay or sit in bed. I have checked multiple times for any signs of insects but never find any. Before & shortly after the bites appear I get nauseated and get a headache. The bites start out sorta like a pimple and itch like a mosquito bite but turn into a raised bite with a dark scab (like dried blood) even though they only pus. The skin around the bites on my legs are red and have red lines on the sides (the lines are red and part of the red area)- that's the best way I can describe it. I also have to bites on my foot right next to each other. Each bite looks like two puncture marks (almost vampire like) except the puncture marks aren't even an inch apart. The skin around them are a dark red almost burgundy color. I also have a blister like lesion (like a blood blister) on my foot that is filled with puss. All of these lesions/bites itch. All of this started happening around mid November. The bites went away and I stopped felling like there was something crawling on me around late november early december. Everything just started coming back late December.

Hay,

I have been fighting the same type of bites. I thought at first it might be bed bugs but had my house checked and it was not. Know I think it was some type of mites or scabies...So I started researching just like everyone else. I came across http://tinyurl.com/754e8lv (Tea Tree Oil). I am very skeptical about everything I do not know about, but since the bites kept coming and I did not want or have the money to go see the doctor, I tried it. It's not too expensive and it works! I read a post were someone said to take a bath and put about 20 drops in the bath and bath for 20 minutes or so. I did this the first time. It was good, but not strong enough for me. I did some more research and read that Tea Tree Oil is one of the only 100% concentrated oils that is safe to apply directly. Now I do not recommend it for all as it is strong and you will feel a slight burning sensation, but wow....So what I do is shower and scrub with soap. Then rinse and fill the tub half way or so. Put in 40 drops or so or just apply directly (100%) to my bites. I usually do not even rinse again as the oil acts as a repellant after it dries. It has been two weeks, no new bits and the old bites are all healing. You will see that Tea Tree oil treats many things besides killing mites. Acne, fungal stuff, ect. I highly recommend it. I am NOT a doctor and am not claiming to be. I just want to share my success as those of us that have had these horrible experiences know just how bad life can get.

There are other size bottles available, but I have used thee one ounce bottles already, so four ounces seems to be the way to go.

Take care and give it a try you will not be disappointed!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From your symptoms, I would suggest you to get scabies ruled out. It is an infestation of the skin with the Sarcoptes scabiei mite. It is characterized by intense itching, usually at night and by small insect-type bites lesions on the skin. Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs.

Please consult a dermatologist and get the diagnosis confirmed. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
