Unual hair growtb on female teen

I am a 16 yr old teen with a very hairy body. Its very embaressing! Although I am concerned mainly with the hair on my face. I have hair on my cheeks, sideburn, upper lip, chin. I tried waxing but it only made that portion of my face like 5X lighter than the rest of my face. Im terrified of trying new ways of hair removal because i feel as if it will come out looking stupid. Thisissue is making me very stressed and anxious; also its ruining my life. I have very low self esteem and have become very quiet. What do you sugguest I do? Please help me, Im so confused. Sometimes Id wish I had cancer instead of all this excess hair!
I also have hair on my chest, stomach, etc.
Thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Hirsutism is usually caused by hormonal imbalance and in women PCOS is one of the leading causes of hirsutism. So please get an evaluation done for this cause.

The methods of hair removal in hirsutism are shaving, chemical depilation by using depilatory creams, temporary epilation by plucking, tweezing, waxing and permanent epilation by electrolysis, thermolysis and laser hair removal.

Apart from these there are some medicines available for treating hirsutism in PCOS. These include oral contraceptives which contain estrogen and progesterone and suppress ovulation, Metformin, antiandrogens which cause androgen blockage( eg spironolactone, flutamide, cyproterone acetate), oral corticosteroids and Finasteride. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
