Very itchy legs

Hi,
I am a 41 year old female and have suffered with incredibly itchy legs for about 14 years.
My legs are a mess, full of scars from scratching till I bleed and then reopening scabs by scratching them over and over.
My doc has sent me to see a dermatologist about twice but they were no help.
I have tried...
Steriod creams
Eczema creams
Nappy rash creams
Porridge oat baths
Menthol Talc
Cream with silver stuff in it
honey cream
I have even had my copper iud out in case it was a copper allergy
I am now taking homeopathic sulphur and that seemed to do the trick at first but not any more (I'm still taking it(about 12 pillules a day).
I have never had allergy testing or any skin samples taken.
I have had a blood test which pointed to me needing iron supplements but the iron tablet gave me severe wind pain ( I mean doubled up on the floor in public severe!)
I have gotten up in the middle of the night and poured cold water over my legs, slept with frozen towels on my legs even sat and rubbed ice cubes on them.
Nothing works and I am at my wits end, I have cried ond cried with the itching and burning. Sometimes I wish I could cut my legs off!
Please help!

This is Eczema. The more you scratch the worse it itches.
Eczema is a skin disease that causes itchy, red, dry flaky skin. There is no cure or reasonable treatment. The treatment is typically steroids but there are side effects.
You should cut down on the amount of baths you get. Don't use hot water. Use a oil based soap like oilatum or Dove all natural. Use natural laundry detergents based on enzymes. Don't use bleach or dryer pads. Use a good moisturizer just after shower. You need to moisturize at least twice a day.
For itching oatmeal or salt baths work. Deep sea salt works well.
There are a lot of supplements that you can try. But no evidence that they work. Don't waste money on allergy tests. But you definitely have allergies. Food is usually the culprit.
Eggs, wheat, peanuts, soy, spicy food, milk and to much meat are typical culprits. A diet of fruit and vegetables can help a lot.
Definitely stay away from all processed and  fast food.
Do Not Scratch!  Apply pressure or soak in cool tub.
