WHAT IS IT PLEASE HELP

Ok Dr. my question is this i am 35 years old and i suffer from an irritation on the head of my penis it is rather itchy and occasionally burns. There are no lesions or sores or any ozzing fluids, it just seem to appear at the very tip of the penis and around the ring of the head in the area between the foreskin and that area, note that i am not circumsized. Now i had this problem about 17 years ago and i was tested for stds by my md at the time he said it was not herpes or anything else, he gave me some miracle cream and it went away up until about 6 years ago when i began to get the irritation again normally it becomes worst after sex or masturbation and occassionally burns after ejaculation. I immediately went to a dr. and i was told to see a dermatologist or urologist so i did both the dermatologist took a swab of the area and prescibed me with protopic cream which didnt work, and also indicated no herpes. I then went to the urologist who did blood work which again was negative. now i have been back to him on numerous occassions and i keep getting anti fungul meds,(loprox, mycelex, and others to no avail i just recently had sex with my wife and again it flared up but now it is very painful and looks and feels like when you scrape your knee my wife has never shown any signs of anything and we have been together 9 years with two healthy children could it be too much friction? i dont know doc but i really need some answers i just want to know what it is and how to make it go away....please help

As I have written to so many other people who ask me roughly the same question, I don't really think there is anything wrong with you at all.  You seem to have red skin that sometimes gets redder and irritated, and you worry about it a lot, when you really don't have to.  You clearly do not--repeat, do not--have a yeast or fungus infection or an STD.  I advise you to use lubrication before sex, to ignore the redness on your penis because penises often look red, and get whatever other help you need--counseling if necessary--to put this behind you.

Take care.
