Hello,
Hives are of two types: acute and chronic(when hives persist for more than 6 weeks). The most likely triggers for acute urticaria are allergies to pets, latex and foods, bee or wasp stings, allergies to medicines, viral infections, dental and sinus infections, fungal infections, blood transfusions and vaccines.
The cause of chronic urticaria is often more difficult to identify. Most cases are idiopathic and are caused by the body's unexplainable development of antibodies to itself (auto-antibodies).
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Yes thanks so much for answering!:D helped me alot.. but last question, what are the cause of this? and is it normal that even the face will have the red map-like stuff? im so surprised when my mom woke up last day cause its very sudden and it scattered really fast on her body..
Hello,
The symptoms that your mother is having sounds like hives. Hives (medically known as urticaria) are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes. They have a tendency to change size rapidly and to move around, disappearing in one place and reappearing in other places, often in a matter of hours. Apply calamine lotion or some mild steroid cream the next time it appears and also ask him to take some Benadryl( causes drowsiness) and Claritin. If the symptoms persist then a dermatologist’s evaluation will be the best. Steroids may be needed.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
