Minoxidil on Eyebrow after Stitches Removed Hair

Hello everyone, I had to get stitches on my eyebrow a week ago due to a gash and right now after the scabs have fallen there is no hair on the edge of my eyebrow where the scab was. I read online to put minoxidil on it ASAP to have a better chance of hair surviving after stitches but i'm worried about the collagen reducing effects of minoxidil. Would putting on minoxidil right now be detrimental to the skin healing process and I would be more likely to scar? Can I use to both minoxidil and retin-a on my eyebrow to negate the collagen reduction from minoxidil?

Welcome.  It is best for you to not self treat but consult with your doctor.  While some patients do use this as a work around from potential hair loss at the site of the stitches, you want a doctor that has examined you to tell you if it is appropriate for you specifically.  While it is done, it is not something you should do on your own.  And please remember that minoxidil can cause mild skin irritation at the site of application which may be irritating on the wound.  Let us know what your doctor says.
