I have a painful rash on my face.

I woke up with it today, it covers most of my face, including cheeks and forehead. It feels very rough, like scales almost, too, with some raised bumps scattered throughout and my skin is very flaky in some areas, like my forehead and my jaw line.

I would assume it was an allergic reaction, but the only thing I've changed is that I recently found out I have Celiac's Disease, so I cut out gluten and have not eaten any in a week.

I also started my period yesterday.

It's possible the rash could be a result of the diet change (kinda like a detox type thing).  Hormones can also play a role in some rash causes- or it could be totally unrelated to either event.  Your best bet to get to the bottom of the cause is to see your doctor- they will know more of your medical history and be able to do an in person exam which will be much more accurate than a guess.
